Divisions within the agency
Road Patrol, Special Response Teams, Criminal Investigations Unit, Drug Enforcement Unit (Task Force officers), K-9 units, ATV patrols, Boat patrols, Honor Guard.
Special Response Teams Duties: To assist in the entry and security of high-risk search warrants and other extraordinary situations not routine to patrol.
Criminal Investigations Duties: The investigations of all felony crimes.
Drug Unit Duties: All investigations of drug activity
K-9 units (3) Duties: Routine patrol, searches for drugs, tracking individuals, protection of officers and arrest of suspects.
ATV patrol Duties: The patrol of areas within the county where road vehicles cannot travel.
Boat patrol Duties: The patrol of accessible waterways, to provide assistance to the SRT and security of industry plants within the county.
Honor Guard Duties: All funeral details, parade details and special events.
Tax Office: Chief tax deputy, 5 tax deputies. The tax office is the Treasury of Marshall County and the Sheriff is the Treasurer.
Civil Process: The civil process server’s duties include the delivery of all court notices, subpoenas and summons.
Court Security: Officers trained by State Supreme Court for security of courthouse and judges. The Sheriff administers its guardian and conservator or persons who are unable to care for their finances themselves. The sheriff is the tax collector of the city.
