Animal Control Officer Position
The office of the Marshall County Commission is seeking candidates for the position of animal control officer. Responsibilities will include, but not be limited to:
- Follows-up on animal control related complaints,
- Assist in investigating cruelty to animal charges,
- Captures and impounds unlicensed, sick, stray and injured animals.
Qualifications, Education and Experience: Graduation from high school or GED certification with a minimum of one (1) year experience working with animals and the general public; or any such combination of education, experience, and training as may be acceptable to the hiring committee.
Knowledge, skills and ability: Must be 21 years of age or older, possess or be able to obtain, prior to hire, a valid driver’s license. Must be able to attain within one (1) year of hire, certification by the National Animal Control Association in Level 1 Animal Investigation.
Must be willing to work weekends, evenings, holidays, and overtime as required.
Must have no convictions of any crime by any state or federal government punishable by imprisonment in a federal or state penitentiary. Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug test.
